Connections to local employers

The Maryland Workforce Exchange connects job seekers to employers by allowing job seekers to upload resumes, and employers to search for qualified candidates.  In addition, JobSource hosts regular hiring events, SoMD regional recruitment, job clubs, and the regional Southern Maryland Hiring Event. These are all great opportunities to network and connect with local employers.

Free Training:  SkillUp Southern Maryland

Sharpen your skills or work towards an industry recognized certification for free, on line, and when it’s convenient for you.  Southern Maryland residents can register and train for free!  Visit SkillUp Southern Maryland here  to view the course catalog and register for your free online learning license.  For more information, watch this 1 minute video.

Training and education funding

(Funding opportunities are based on eligibility)

If you are eligible for one of our programs (Youth Program, Adults, Seniors, Dislocated Workers), funding may be available for training or education. This is helpful if you would like to acquire new skills or enhance skills you already have. In addition to funding for training/education, some programs offer financial assistance with job-related expenses like gas, work uniforms, tools, and books.
